</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>Seltzer says Westbrook could be back on the practice field in "two and a half weeks," but likely got that info from an optimistic Andy Reid on Sunday. Westbrook remains a very big risk in the first round of fantasy drafts. It is a good sign that he wasn't placed on the active/PUP list to start camp.

Don't be too worried over this. The ankle problem and LeSean McCoy are mild concerns, but we fully expect Westbrook to get at least 20 touches. The Eagles always say they are going to try to keep their star running back fresh, but he usually toughs it out. Westbrook is a must-start Sunday.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Eagles coach Andy Reid said Brian Westbrook is day-to-day with a right ankle sprain, but the injury will not require an MRI.
This is the same ankle that Westbrook had surgery on in June. Peter King is hearing that Westbrook should play against the Chiefs Sunday, but it's unlikely he'll practice this week as Reid admitted that there is some swelling in the ankle. LeSean McCoy could get some significant carries this week.

It's a surprise as the reports from Friday suggested Westbrook would try to give it a go. But with the bye week looming in Week 4, the Eagles have chosen to give Westbrook two full weeks to heal. Rookie LeSean McCoy will get his first career start and is a solid fantasy play.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Eagles coach Andy Reid suggested Monday that he would have a running back rotation with Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy going forward.
"I think that will take place," Reid said. "[McCoy] will rotate in there. I don't know what the rotation will be, but we'll work him in there and see how it goes." The Eagles offense didn't miss a beat with McCoy replacing Westbrook on Sunday, and Reid will want to keep his brittle 30-year-old running back healthy for the long haul. Beginning in Week 5, expect to see McCoy with 10-15 touches weekly instead of just handful.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Brian Westbrook (ankle) and Donovan McNabb (ribs) both practiced on Monday.
Both players are expected to start in a tasty home matchup with the Bucs on Sunday. Westbrook will probably be spelled more often than he's used to by LeSean McCoy, while McNabb will be dealing with Michael Vick's special packages. Still, consider both Westbrook and McNabb strong fantasy plays barring any setbacks this week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Eagles coach Andy Reid said Wednesday that he expects both Donovan McNabb (ribs) and Brian Westbrook (ankle) to play Sunday against the Bucs.
These two have been targeting Week 5 all along and took the entire bye week off to get healthy. They have a great matchup against Tampa's No. 31 overall defense, but expect LeSean McCoy to rotate in for Westbrook a decent amount. Kevin Kolb, who shined in the two games McNabb missed, will likely be the third quarterback. Wildcat specialist Michael Vick will be the No. 2.

Brian needs the ball to get warmed up. He needs his touches." While the rotation may have been overstated, it's clear that Westbrook's workload will decrease. Expect 15 touches per week going forward, which is plenty for RB2 value.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>It's a smart move as Westbrook's 30-year-old ankle only has so many cuts left in it. In Week 5, McCoy had nine touchdes while Westbrook had eight. Asked if that's the plan for the future, Reid said, "We'll do that as long as we need to." Expect a series by series rotation this week in Oakland.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>There's a "good chance" Brian Westbrook (concussion) won't be able to play in Week 8, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
Westbrook was out cold for a couple seconds after taking a knee to the back of the head on Monday night. The Eagles have a huge intradivision game against the Giants this Sunday, but playing Westbrook on a short week would be irresponsible. Late Monday, coach Andy Reid said he won't play Westbrook if there's a risk. Look for LeSean McCoy to get the majority of work this week.

</TD></TR><TR><TD vAlign=top colSpan=3>Andy Reid is not ruling out Brian Westbrook (concussion) for this week's game against the Giants.
Reid was noncommittal on Westbrook's status, saying that he's counting on Westbrook being there but will have to see how the concussion tests go. According to beat writer Jeff McLane, however, doctors are saying it doesn't look good for Westbrook this week. We should know more on Wednesday, but owners should seek alternatives in the mean time.

I hope they keep him out. With Benson on the bye, I had to pick up McCoy (for the 2nd time) and play him as my #2 RB this week, cause I dont have too much faith in Julius Jones right now.

</TD></TR><TR><TD class=vaLink>The Birds are trying to not tip their hand about lineup decisions by calling Westbrook "likely" to play early in the week and then a "game-time" call early Wednesday. We can't criticize Philadelphia for being rather secrective with an in-division game against the Giants on tap, but in all likelihood Westbrook won't play after being knocked unconscious in Week 7.

the only other option I have is A. Bradshaw (NYG). You never know what he will do.... :smoking: Good luck & here's to McCoy scoring 2 TD's:drink:

Brian Westbrook - RB - Eagles Brian Westbrook's (concussion) headache is reportedly gone, and he will begin aerobic workouts on Friday.
Though doctors have advised ruling Westbrook out for at least a week, coach Andy Reid is still calling him a game-time decision. We remain skeptical that he'll be able to suit up this week against the Giants. October 29

Coach Andy Reid says the Birds are still awaiting test results on Wesbrook's head. He has not been medically cleared yet, and no one covering the team expects him to play. Look for LeSean McCoy to start against the Giants' top-five run defense. McCoy is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry this year.
